COCKTAILS, canapés and a countryside setting at the heart of the capital – that is the new offer for event organisers from IWM London. The historic venue, which recently unveiled a stylish, furnished outdoor terrace, has now launched a summer package for those looking to host guests or delegates to an informal evening event.
Along with hire of the terrace from 6.45pm to 9pm, the summer offer includes cocktails on arrival, along with house wines, beer and unlimited soft drinks and a specially crafted selection of canapés and bowls.
Peyton Events, led by multi-award-winning restaurateur, Oliver Peyton, the canapés include meat, fish, vegetarian and dessert options, from seared sashimi tuna with coriander and lemon or fajita spiced chicken with sweetcorn, to summer squash arancini with crispy sage and parmesan mayonnaise and lime meringue tarts with toasted coconut.
Bowls feature dishes such as charred hake with smoked paprika potatoes, lime aioli and chorizo wafer, roasted cauliflower risotto with aged parmesan, Earl Grey poached chicken, watercress and potato salad and English rhubarb panna cotta with vanilla bean shortbread.
There is also the option to upgrade to a barbecue, cooked within the venue’s kitchen and served outside, featuring hot dishes such as Tuscan rosemary chicken, pork ribs with Memphis sauce, spicy lamb kofta kebabs with minted yoghurt and peri peri tofu burgers.
These are accompanied by a homemade slaw and potato, cous cous and Mediterranean salads, with summer fruit tarts, chocolate brownies and Pimms trifle shots to follow. Other optional upgrades include an enhanced cocktail menu, the extension of the event beyond 9.30pm, additional furniture and lighting and acoustic entertainment.
The terrace can host a maximum of 175 people and the summer package costs £84.50 for 150 guests or more, £95.50 for 100 to 149 people or £112 for events for between 50 and 99 attendees. For further information – or to arrange a show round – call the events team on 020 7091 3140, email events@iwm.org.uk or visit www.iwm.org.uk.
