A new outdoor event space has been unveiled in the grounds of one of London’s most iconic attractions. For the first time in its history, IWM London, which uses permanent and temporary exhibitions to tell the story of those whose lives have been shaped by conflict over the past century, has opened its grounds for private hire, with a newly created terrace area. Peyton Events, has been designed a beautiful set of menus and drinks with summer parties and receptions firmly in mind.
Furnished with stylish, informal seating, parasols will shield guests on warmer days while heaters will ensure the space can be enjoyed during the coolest of summer evenings.
Food – from BBQ inspired dishes cooked on an indoor grill, to canapés and street-food themed bowls – will be prepared by the on-site Peyton Events chefs spearheaded by creative director Oliver Peyton, a regular judge on tv’s the Great British Menu. View the summer brochure here
The new terrace is located to the side of the Grand Atrium – one of the most dramatic event spaces in London with a German V2 rocket, suspended from a 25m high vaulted ceiling and a popular choice for large scale drinks receptions and dinners.
Peyton Events creative director, Oliver Peyton, said the terrace has been designed to appeal to those looking to host an informal event, for a maximum 175 people, in a prestigious setting.
“IWM London’s impressive facade, flanked by two impressive 15-inch naval guns, makes it one of the most recognisable buildings in the capital and the surrounding parkland really is an oasis of greenery and tranquillity. So, what could be nicer than inviting guests, business contacts or clients to a summer drinks reception, with spectacular food, in a truly memorable venue? ” — OLIVER PEYTON – CREATIVE DIRECTOR
We’ve created a summer package specifically for the outdoor terrace, priced at £112 for 50-99 guests, £95.50 for 100-149 and £84.50 for more than 150. It includes hire of the terrace from 6.45pm to 9pm, cocktails on arrival, canapés and bowl food, two alcoholic drinks and unlimited soft drinks.
Other event spaces within IWM London include the covered Roof Terrace, designed by Foster + Partners, which is an inspirational setting for everything from product launches and business breakfasts, to presentations and corporate dinners, while the Orpen Boardroom overlooks the museum’s famous entrance.
The Park View Tea Room can also be hired for corporate events such as buffet lunches and informal meetings, or as a break out space for guests and delegates.
