Hendricks Afternoon Tea at The National Café

The National Café & National Dining Rooms are creating a whole new afternoon tea experience with the ultimate British Gin distillers, Hendricks to produce the most wonderful afternoon tea with a twist (a cucumber twist!).

Deep in the remote Scottish countryside lives Hendricks distillery, with a flair for the unusual, they believe that life is simply too glorious not to experience its peculiar flavour…and we tend to agree!

They make very small batches of their gin at a time which means they take considerable care to make sure each bottle is perfectly flavoured and lovingly prepared just for you, just like our lovingly handmade sandwiches, cakes and scones which you’ll find paired in this our reimagined afternoon tea. 

The beautiful English teapot hosts ice, Hendricks gin, tonic and cucumber to perfectly pair with your classic Peyton & Byrne afternoon tea. Delicately prepared finger sandwiches made with handmade Peyton and Byrne bread and gorgeous mini cakes served with fragrant loose leave teas, all complimented by Hendricks gin. Served in its own traditional tea pot, the afternoon tea not only tastes delicious but looks stunning.

We are serving beautiful hand crafted cocktails with our afternoon tea, designed just for this occasion. Relax and enjoy one of our three signature cocktails; our Rose Garden cocktail, a stunning pink cocktail, flavoured with fresh raspberry and rose syrup, the zingy Flora Dora with ginger beer and fresh lime juice and the refreshing meadow mule, with floral Elderflower cordial and crisp apple.
